The recent Mumbai gang rape case has once again proved what Femina believes - ‘your safety is in your own hands. The 22-year-old photojournalist intern, who was attacked and raped by five men on Thursday evening, was accompanied by a male colleague. But that didn’t deter the men from approaching the girl with their cruel intentions. It is time that we arm and prepare our minds and bodies and become self sufficient in protecting ourselves.

But that doesn’t translate into splurging money and spending long hours training with a martial art expert. All we need is a basic training, tricks and tips. In our effort to ensure that women in this country stay safe, we present self defence videos with basic moves that will empower you. The first part of the series is on how to counter a frontal attack.
