Lemon:
Lemons or the juice from lemons can treat constipation because it stimulates our digestive system and get the things moving . This is one of the simple and effective treatments which you can try at your home.
Fennel:
Fennel seeds are very useful in treating diseases such as constipation and irritable bowel syndrome . They encourages smooth muscle movement in the digestive tract in our body.
Figs:
Figs are very high in fiber content and act as natural laxative. People who are suffering from chronic constipation must include figs in their diet. For the treatment both fresh and dried figs can be used. When fresh figs are available then eat them with their skin on. The skin contains fiber and calcium.
Castor Oil:
Castor oil stimulates the small and large intestines and improve our bowel movement. You can simply swallow one or two teaspoons of castor oil in empty stomach. To better the taste you can even take it with a fruit juice. Within hours you will notice huge improvement in your condition but you must not repeat this remedy for a long period as it has some side effects.

Honey is very beneficial in relieving constipation because it acts as a mild laxative. You can have it daily to treat constipation. Take two teaspoons of honey 3 times a day. You can mix 1 tablespoon of honey and lemon juice in a glass of hot water and drink it every morning on empty stomach.
Flax Seed:
Flax seed has a lot of medicinal properties along with a lots of fiber and omega 3 fatty acids. Flaxseed also has a laxative property which can be useful in curing mild to very serious constipation. You can mix 1 tablespoon of flax seeds in a glass of water and allow it to rest for 2 to 3 hours and drink the water before going to bed, your bowel movement will be much better.
